Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has intercepted a trailer containing stolen pipes belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

The pipes were neatly piled up on the floor of the trailer and bags of chaff placed on top and all around the pipes to conceal them when the trailer was intercepted.

The NSCDC operatives who made the discovery apprehended five of the suspected vandals in connection with the unlawful possession and transportation of the 204 units of the iron pipes.

The Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Command, DSC Amidu Baba, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Yola, disclosing that the suspects were intercepted on 30th September 2025 along the Jalingo–Numan road in Adamawa State while the suspects were on their way to Yobe State.

“Preliminary investigations reveal that the iron pipes were dug out and loaded from a bush around Mararaba Abbare, Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State,” Baba stated, explaining that in an attempt to evade detection, the suspects concealed the pipes with chaff, deceitfully presenting them as farm produce.
