The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has again expressed optimism that Nigeria is on a steady path to prosperity under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Akpabio stated this at a public function organized by Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), in Abuja.

The Senate President commended Professor Sulaiman for his remarkable contributions to democratic development and capacity building within the legislature, describing him as a patriot and scholar dedicated to national progress.

He noted that the National Assembly is committed to transforming Nigeria’s governance framework through an ongoing constitutional review aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and promoting good governance.

“Nigeria is becoming a better country for prosperity under President Tinubu. The National Assembly will continue to support reforms that enhance growth, unity, and stability,” Akpabio said.

Speaking earlier, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman expressed satisfaction with his role in shaping Nigeria’s legislative and democratic principles through capacity building and institutional reform.

He added that under his leadership, NILDS has grown into a global institute for the exchange of ideas and knowledge on legislation, democracy, and good governance, serving as a hub for research, policy innovation, and international collaboration.
