The Northern Development Authority (NDA) has announced that the government has directed the transfer of all Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Projects (IPEP), also known as the One Million Dollars per Constituency initiative, to the respective District Assemblies for execution and completion.
In a statement issued by its Corporate Affairs Directorate on 16 October 2025, the Authority said the directive is aimed at deepening decentralisation and ensuring effective implementation, monitoring, and management of community infrastructure projects at the local level.
Per the directive, twenty percent (20%) of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is to be allocated to complete all ongoing and uncompleted IPEP projects across the beneficiary constituencies.
The NDA noted that it has already submitted a comprehensive status report on the various IPEP projects to the five Regional Coordinating Councils in the Northern Zone to facilitate a smooth transition process and guide follow-up activities.
District Assemblies that require further clarification or support have been encouraged to contact the NDA’s regional offices for technical assistance and additional information.
