Former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, has suggested that the alleged conspiracy between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello has hit an insurmountable obstacle.

Odinkalu, in a post on his X handle, claimed that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has become a significant problem for Akpabio and Bello.

The statement came after Akpoti-Uduaghan received an overwhelming welcome from supporters in Kogi State on Tuesday – despite an existing government ban on rallies and processions.

Supporters from Kogi Central’s five local government areas gathered early in Ihima, Okehi LGA, to welcome the embattled PDP lawmaker.

Reacting to the massive crowd that turned out for the Kogi senator, Odinkalu stated that Akpoti-Uduaghan achieved electoral success without resorting to rigging.

He said: “In Kogi State, the criminal conspiracy of @Senator_Akpabio & @OfficialGYBKogi has run into an irrepressible problem. The name of that problem is @NatashaAkpoti. This woman won an election without rigging, something that neither Akpabio nor Yahaya Bello can do. You see!”
