The Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Jakob Linulf, has praised Margins ID Group for its pivotal contribution to Ghana’s development, particularly in advancing the country’s digital identity agenda.
Speaking at a stakeholder engagement at the company’s Intelligent Card Production Systems (ICPS) facility in Accra on Thursday, 25 September 2025, Ambassador Linulf described the Ghana Card project as a landmark achievement.
“The Ghana Card is a major milestone, and you should be proud of the contribution you are making to Ghana’s development,” he said.
The envoy lauded Margins ID Group as a leading force in the global digital identity sector, stressing that the company stands apart from many identity solution providers in Africa.
His visit comes at a time when several African nations, including the Democratic Republic of Congo and The Gambia, are seeking to replicate Ghana’s model as they work towards building secure national identity systems to drive digital transformation and socio-economic growth.
“Margins ID Group is well known in Denmark, and you should take great pride in your achievements,” Ambassador Linulf added after touring the facility. “You have our support, and I am very impressed with what I have seen here.”
He was accompanied on the visit by Jørgen Østergård Bollesen, Head of Trade, and Linda Kafui Abbah-Foli, Commercial Adviser, both of the Danish Embassy in Accra.
Margins ID Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with international stakeholders and advancing Africa’s digital identity drive.
He pledged that the Group would continue to harness innovation and collaboration to reinforce Ghana’s position as a continental model for digital transformation.
“The Danish Government deserves commendation for its contribution to this project, and we look forward to working together to achieve new milestones,” Mr Baiden said. “Together, we will innovate, expand, and deliver secure identification solutions that meet the evolving needs of Africa and beyond.”
He also highlighted the diplomatic value of the collaboration, noting that Margins ID Group’s support for Danish Constitution Day and other Embassy initiatives demonstrated how technological partnerships could strengthen cultural and bilateral ties.
From an initial investment of just $100 three decades ago, Margins ID Group has grown into a technology leader and a symbol of successful international cooperation in Africa’s digital transformation.
The partnership between Denmark and Margins ID Group dates back to 1999, with Danish support playing a key role in positioning Ghana as a continental leader in digital identity. Today, the Ghana Card is recognised as a model for other African nations.
