Hot SourceThe Kwara State Police Command has debunked reports that a female police officer in the state was kidnapped and murdered.
A statement by the spokesperson of the command SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi in Ilorin on Saturday, described the claims as “entirely false, and deeply distressing to members of the public”.
The police command stated unequivocally that the report is not only false but also misleading, with the intent to cause panic in the state.
It advised members of the public to disregard the false/misleading information as there is no report of any female police officer missing or abducted in any division in the state.
”There is no Ogidi police Division in Kwara State. The spread of such misinformation is not only harmful to reputations but also distressing to the individuals and the people of Kwara State.
”The command is cooperating fully with other security agencies in the state to ensure that we continue to protect lives and properties, prevent crimes, and maintain peace,” it added.
The command urged the public and media outlets to refrain from sharing unverified or sensationalized information that may cause unnecessary panic or damage the reputation of the state.
The statement assured that the command under the leadership of CP Adekimi Ojo, remains committed to transparency and will provide further updates as necessary.
