Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have killed a suspected kidnapper and launched a manhunt for others during an operation in Kaduna State.
This was disclosed in a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Nigerian Army on Saturday.
According to the statement, the operation took place on January 2, 2026, at the kidnappers’ hideout in Jagindi Kagom village, Jemaa Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.
Troops from Sector 7 stormed the area and engaged the suspects.
The Facebook post reads: “On 02 January, 2026, acting on credible information, troops from Sector 7 conducted an offensive clearance operation at identified kidnappers’ hideouts in Jagindi Kagom village, Jemaa Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
“During the operation, troops engaged the criminals, resulting in the neutralisation of one criminal, later identified as Dahiru Adamu Barka, while others escaped. Sector 7 troops are currently tracking the remaining criminal elements to ensure they face the full wrath of the law.”
The General Officer Commanding, 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, Major General E.F. Oyinlola, commended the troops for the successful operation.
He also urged residents to continue providing useful information to security agencies.
According to the statement, the task force remains committed to sustaining operations against criminal groups to protect lives and property across the area.
