The National Leader of the Izala (Ahlus-Sunnah) movement, Sheikh Bala Lau, has commended the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, for his critical role in de-escalating tensions in Kano State.
Speaking during a preaching session in Ibadan, Sheikh Lau praised the DSS boss timely intervention in the case involving Islamic preacher Mallam Abubakar Lawal, popularly known as “Triump.” He said the situation, which had the potential to result in a court trial, was instead redirected towards peaceful resolution following Mr. Ajayi’s directive for the Kano State Command to mediate between conflicting Islamic groups.
According to the cleric, this approach created an opportunity for dialogue and reconciliation, preventing further escalation of the crisis.
Sheikh Lau also urged the Kano State Shura Counci, tasked with investigating the matter, to ensure a fair and impartial process. He emphasized that justice remains the foundation for lasting peace, both in Kano and across the country.
In his message, Sheikh Lau expressed appreciation to the people of Ibadan and members of the Ahlus-Sunnah movement for upholding the values of Islam. He also encouraged religious leaders and followers to exercise tolerance and wisdom in their preaching.
“Be tolerant and always apply wisdom in your preaching. May Allah continue to guide us all,” he said.

Zion Prayer Movement Outreach Debunks False Claim of Attack on Evangelist Ebuka Obi
The Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has categorically denied a viral video circulating on YouTube which falsely claims that its Spiritual Director, Evangelist Ebuka Obi, was attacked by gunmen during the recent commissioning of a free hospital in Aguleri, Anambra State. In an official statement released in Lagos by the Evangelist’s Media Adviser, Mr. Dan Aibangbe, the organization described the video as a “blatant lie” and “wicked fabrication” designed to incite fear, discourage attendance at its upcoming prayer crusade, and mislead unsuspecting viewers. The AI-generated video, though appearing to show concern and calling for prayers for Evangelist Obi, fabricated a narrative of a dramatic attack that never occurred. “The details in the content are nothing short of wild imaginations,” the statement read. “It undermines the diligent work of security agencies who ensured a peaceful, well-attended, and incident-free commissioning ceremony.” The commissioning of the new hospital, a free facility for the benefit of the public, was attended by government officials, dignitaries, and a massive crowd of supporters. According to the statement , there was no disturbance throughout the event. Evangelist Obi and his team peacefully departed Aguleri around 4 p.m. and arrived safely in Owerri, Imo State—well before the fictitious 8 p.m. “attack” claimed in the video. Aibangbe suggested the fake video may have been published to generate views and revenue for the vlogger, or as a deliberate ploy by “mischief-makers” seeking to cause panic among faithful followers, particularly those traveling from abroad for the ministry’s forthcoming prayer crusade. “The enemy traditionally adopts fear and rumours as weapons of warfare,” Aibangbe stated. “But those spreading falsehoods about the Church are already defeated and will be put to shame by the power of God.” He also praised the current security landscape in the region, highlighting the “deliberate and conscientious efforts” of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo in fostering a safer environment. Looking ahead to the upcoming crusade, scheduled to be held in Ngokpala, Imo State, Aibangbe assured worshippers of their safety. He described Imo as a “safe haven for worshippers and visitors alike,” adding that robust security arrangements are in place for the event, covering crowd control and personal safety for all attendees. The ministry urged the public to verify information from credible sources, avoid spreading unverified news, and remain vigilant. The misleading video has already been reported to YouTube and is under review for possible sanctions. The ministry also extended a warm invitation to the faithful, encouraging them to attend the upcoming prayer crusade without fear, promising a spiritually uplifting experience in a secure environment

Ajanaku Lauds Gov Aiyedatiwa as Idogun Marks Historic Return to State Cabinet
*Commissioner honoured by Idogun Progressive Union
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ondo State, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what he described as an unprecedented recognition of the Idogun community in his administration.
Ajanaku spoke during a grand reception organized in his honour by the Idogun Progressive Union (IPU). The event brought together community leaders, family, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate his appointment as commissioner.
The occasion, which began with an opening prayer by Pastor Gabriel Oyebola, was chaired by the former Chief of Staff to the governor (Late Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu) Chief Olugbenga Ale, who lauded Ajanaku’s elevation as both an honour to Idogun and a pride to Ondo State. Ale described the commissioner as a man of character and professionalism, urging him to remain fully loyal to Governor Aiyedatiwa and to serve without fear or favour.
The Chairman of IPU, Mr. Sunday Agbotoba, recalled that the last time an indigene of Idogun held a commissioner portfolio was in 1976 with Dr. L. Olasehinde, noting that Ajanaku’s appointment after 49 years was a milestone. He appealed to the commissioner to remember the community in the area of development.
Other speakers, including Baba Anthony Omolorun Modupe, Elder S.A. Oniyere, Dr. Bayoshule, and Mr. Lanre Akarakiri, described the appointment as the dawn of a new era for Idogun. They praised Ajanaku’s humility, professional pedigree, and selfless leadership, while offering prayers for his success in office.
Family members and associates also spoke glowingly about the commissioner. His former teacher, T.O. Ajimuda, expressed delight at seeing one of his former students attain such heights, while his brother, Gbenga Ajanaku, described him as a disciplined, contented, and trustworthy leader who had brought Idogun into a jubilee season with his appointment.
In his response, Hon. Ajanaku thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for giving Idogun what he termed its “best representation in decades,” citing his own appointment alongside other indigenes of the community serving as Civil Service Commissioner, LCDA Chairmen, and Secretaries.
“Idogun has never had it so good in the past. For this, I pledge robust grassroots support for the governor as a mark of appreciation for his goodwill towards our people and the entire state,” Ajanaku said.
He further appreciated the Idogun Progressive Union for the honour, assuring the people of unity, peace, and collective progress. He urged both elders and youths to shun rancour and embrace cooperation for the even development of Idogun and Ondo State.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Chief Olugbenga Ale, Baba Omolorun Modupe, Mr. Sunday Agbotoba, Elder S.A. Oniyere, Dr. Bayoshule, Mr. Lanre Akarakiri, Mr. Akerekan, Gbenga Ajanaku, and management staff of the Ondo State Ministry of Information and Orientation, among others.
