The former deputy governor of Abia State, Chris Akomas, has said the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government has implemented economic resolutions and solutions put forward to the forum of former deputy governors of Nigeria.

Akomas disclosed this at an event in Abuja on Thursday.

Akomas, who is the current national chairman of FFDGN, said that the forum plays a cardinal role in the country’s nation-building.

According to him, the country is on the right path to achieving its full potential for generations to come.

“The forum is spurred by the interest of nation-building and development. We believe that Nigeria can achieve it best for our country and generations to come.

“Last year our conference was on issues around economics. We came up with suggestions and resolutions. I am happy to say the resolutions were implemented by this government,” he told journalists in an interview at the forum’s new secretariat in Abuja.

In his remarks, Nigerian Senator and former governor and deputy governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wammako, noted that the forum portends unity and ensures good governance for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“It portends unity for the country and ensures good governance. What the country needs are leaders that can come together for the interest of the nation to build a better Nigeria,” he said.

DAILY POST reports Last year, as part of its 16-point communique, the former deputy governors urged President Tinubu’s government that all external borrowing by the Federal Government or sub-nationals should be judiciously applied to productive activities and public infrastructure development with an impact on citizens’ standard of living.
