Prince Nkrumah, popularly known as Sir Skinny, an ICT teacher at Ansah Redeemed Basic School in Assin Fosu, Central Region, has reportedly taken his own life following a suspected heartbreak.

According to reports, Nkrumah ingested a weedicide after the woman he had supported through nursing school ended their relationship upon graduation, choosing to be with another man.

Colleagues say the teacher was found lifeless in his room after his absence from school prompted a visit from staff. A note left behind reportedly asked his family to forgive him for taking his life.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the school and the Assin Fosu community, highlighting the emotional strain faced by individuals in personal crises.

Authorities and community members are urging caution and attention to mental health issues, stressing the importance of support systems for people experiencing emotional distress.

The deceased was reportedly rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
