Herbalist arrested for assaulting patient

The West Mamprusi Municipal Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old herbalist, Iddrisu Basiru, for allegedly assaulting a woman who had gone to him for treatment at his residence in Zangum.

The victim, 28-year-old Musah Asia, told police she informed her parents of the incident and expressed her intention to travel to Accra and return.

Basiru is said to have reacted violently, inflicting injuries on her face.

Asia, a mother of two, later lodged a complaint with the West Mamprusi Municipal Police Command, leading to Basiru’s arrest on Saturday, 27 September 2025. He has since been transferred to the Walewale police charge office for further investigation.

Police in West Mamprusi have declined to comment on the case, saying investigations are ongoing.
