Hot SourceThe Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has revoked the authority of one of its deputy directors, Kusi Atta Kakra, to speak on its behalf, as part of a restructuring of its corporate communications.
In a media release dated 16 October 2023, the authority directed all official communications and media enquiries to be handled solely by its corporate affairs department.
“The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) wishes to clarify that Mr. Kusi Atta Kakra, a Deputy Director of the Authority, is not authorised to speak on behalf of the Ghana Tourism Authority in any capacity,” the release stated.
The statement, signed by the director of corporate affairs, Bright Asempa Tsadidey, specified that all matters concerning the GTA’s programmes and policies must now be directed to the deputy director of corporate affairs, Francisca Boakye.
The GTA said this directive “forms part of the Authority’s Reset Agenda, which seeks to strengthen professionalism, institutional accountability, and coherence in all corporate communications.”
It reaffirmed its commitment to “maintaining open, accurate, and coordinated engagement with the media and the public as we work together to advance Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts sectors.”
The release was copied to the chief executive officer, all deputy CEOs, head office and regional directors, and Mr Kusi himself.
