
Goods, household items and other properties have been destroyed as a result of a fire incident that ravaged some shops in a market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at Iya Maryam Adebara complex Rounda, in Ogunpa market on Monday evening.
Our correspondent gathered no fewer than ten (10) shops were ravaged by fire.
Chairman, Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident.

Akinwande in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday noted that a rescue operation was successfully carried out with the support of men of the Federal Fire Service.
He said: “Upon arrival, we met ten (10) shops out of several shops in the market engulfed by flames.
“Our officers swiftly got into action and prevented the fire from spreading to other shops and nearby properties.
“The Federal Fire Service also joined hands with us to extinguish the fire. No casualty was recorded.
“The fire was as a result of fueling of a running generator by one of the occupants.
“Properties worth billions of naira were saved by the firefighters.”
