Ghana International School (GIS) will host its 52nd Annual Parents and Teachers
Association (PTA) Sponsored Walk on Saturday, 8th November 2025, at the University of Ghana,
Legon, under the theme “70 Years: Walking into the Future.”
The annual walk is one of GIS’s most anticipated community events and this year, will highlight the school’s ongoing 70th Anniversary celebrations. It will bring together students, parents, alumni, teachers, staff and friends of the school in a vibrant expression of unity, wellness, and purpose.
The 15-kilometre walk, beginning at 6:00 a.m. from the Legon Athletic Oval, *is targeted at raising* funds to support *Mental health efforts and infrastructure in Ghana. * This year’s edition also celebrates the school’s remarkable alumni network, and will feature several Star Walkers; *distinguished GIS alumni who are making* a difference in their respective fields. It will also embody the school’s values of leadership and service.
“For 70 years, GIS has shaped not only bright minds but compassionate hearts. Our Star Walkers and entire alumni network, represent the spirit of global citizenship and community service that defines the GIS journey. Together, we walk for wellness, unity, and a better future for all” said a representative of the GIS PTA.
Participants can join the walk for a minimum contribution of Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHS250). The day will feature interactive experiences, family-friendly side attractions, and opportunities for alumni and current families to reconnect and celebrate GIS’s seven-decade legacy of excellence and impact.
For over five decades, the GIS PTA Sponsored Walk has united generations of GIS families. This 70th Anniversary edition continues that tradition of reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible, well-rounded global. citizens who act with purpose and compassion.
