GES removes KNUST SHS assistant headmaster after video shows him in intimate act with student

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr Charles Akwasi Aidoo from his position as Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School after a video surfaced online allegedly showing him in an intimate act with a female student.

In a statement released on Monday, 29 September 2025, GES said Mr Aidoo has been barred from entering the school while a full investigation takes place.

“The attention of the Management of the Ghana Education Service was drawn to a viral video circulating on social media allegedly involving Mr Charles Akwasi Aidoo… in a compromised position with a female student,” the statement said.

GES described the matter as serious and assured parents, students and the public that due process will be followed.

“In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care, Mr Aidoo has already been removed from office,” it added.

GES also emphasised its zero-tolerance on misconduct that endangers students or undermines the profession.

“GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity and wellbeing of students,” the statement added.
