Ganduje criticizes Kwankwaso, rallies party members for unity ahead of elections

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized the performance of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano, asserting that many supporters of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s presidential candidate, are disillusioned.

Ganduje made this statement during a dinner organized by the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum to honor prominent party figures.

Represented by the Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, Ganduje accused Kwankwaso of exaggerating his popularity in Kano. “It surprises me when Rabiu Kwankwaso claims he has the people’s support. Without our internal issues during the last election, he wouldn’t have achieved any success in Kano. Today, even his loyalists are full of regret. Kwankwasiyya is no longer relevant, and even the governor seems unaware of the state’s challenges,” Ganduje declared.

The APC Chairman emphasized the critical role of unity in reclaiming political dominance in Kano. “Our success lies in unity. God has already shown His support for us. The current administration has failed Kano, and we are ready to take over. The next election will be straightforward for us,” he said.

Adding his voice to the call for unity, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, noted that disunity remains the only obstacle for the APC in Kano. “Winning elections isn’t our issue; if one were held today, we have no doubts about our chances. Unfortunately, God did not grant us victory in the last elections. Let us remain united and prayerful. The current state leadership has failed, and the people are unhappy,” Ata remarked.

The event, held in honor of APC stalwarts like Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Labaran Abdul Madari, and Baffa Babba Danagundi, was a moment of reflection and celebration for the party.

Dignitaries, including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, represented by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, joined other national and state APC leaders at the dinner.
