Four people, have lost their lives, while three others sustained injuries in a fatal crash on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway, near the Fire Academy and Training School (FATS).
The accident, which occurred at approximately 5:45 am on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, involved a commercial KIA truck (GT 5335-19) and a Toyota RAV4 (AS 4365-20).
The Bechem Fire Command, responded swiftly, arriving at the scene at 5:53 am.
Upon arrival, rescuers found seven victims, with four trapped—three in the RAV4 and one in the KIA truck. At 6:12 am, the Duayaw-Nkwanta Fire Service team joined the operation. After an intense effort, four lifeless bodies were retrieved from the mangled vehicles.
The remaining three survivors were rushed to Saint John’s of God Hospital and Bechem Government Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
