One of the individuals convicted for their involvement in a foiled coup plot has been granted bail while awaiting the outcome of his appeal.
The court approved bail for Bright Alan Debrah, setting the amount at GHC2.5 million.
Debrah, a fleet manager, was among six individuals convicted of conspiracy to commit high treason and treason, for which they were sentenced to death by hanging. Debrah’s lawyer, Matthias Dzotsi, confirmed that the application for bail pending appeal was filed following the convictions.
Details surrounding the conditions of the bail and the progress of the appeal are expected to be disclosed in subsequent proceedings.
