Five Fulani youths have been killed in what community sources described as an unprovoked attack in Plateau State.
Zagazola Makama reports that the incident reportedly happened on February 19 in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
Sources told the security analyst that the victims were attacked by suspected Berom militia members while returning from Dorowan Babuje.
The youths were said to be traveling through the Jong Fulani community around 7:00 p.m. when they were ambushed. Three of the victims were identified as Tahiru Muhammad, Jibrin Salisu, and Abdulmumin Isyak.
Sources claimed that one of the victims was beheaded, while others were shot dead during the attack.
Security sources said empty 7.62mm Special cartridges were recovered from the scene, along with a motorcycle believed to belong to the victims.
A community source said: “The family has been informed that security forces are on the trail of the attackers, but as usual, nothing may be done.”
