The opening ceremony of the FESTAC Africa Renaissance Festival 2025 will now take place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) following a last-minute change of venue announced by organisers early Monday.
In a notice circulated to participants and guests, the organising committee confirmed that the start time remains 12:00 GMT, but directed all attendees to the new location.
“ATTENTION TO ALL FESTAC ’25 ATTENDEES: Please take note of the FESTAC Africa Renaissance Festival 2025 venue change. The Opening Ceremony begins at 12.00 GMT. See you there. #MyAfricaYourAfricaOurAfrica,” the statement read.
Festival officials are urging guests to adjust their travel plans and monitor official FESTAC Africa communication channels for any further updates.
The announcement comes a day after a colourful “Kente and Calabash” welcome cocktail at the Labadi Beach Hotel set the tone for a week-long celebration of African art, music and heritage in honour of Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
Delegations from across the continent and the African diaspora are expected to attend the Accra edition of the revived pan-African cultural festival, which features exhibitions, live performances and cultural dialogues across the capital.
