A man, Sankey Ovemureye, has reportedly killed his six year old daughter, Abigail Stanley, for money rituals at Uviama New Layout, Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the suspect escaped after smashing the head of the little girl.

The incident occurred on 15th June.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the development in a statement released on Sunday.

Edafe said the Divisional Police Officer of Agbarho had recovered the corpse of the little child whose head was smashed several times on the wall.

“The corpse was recovered and deposited at the mortuary. The father who is the principal suspect is currently at large.”

Meanwhile, Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi has ordered a manhunt for the fleeing suspect.

CP Olufemi also assured the public that that the suspect will be arrested and justice will be served.

He urged anyone with useful information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect to call the Control Room on 0803684974 or report at the nearest police station.
