Euro 2024: Spain Edge Georgia, Zoom Into Quarter-Finals

Spain have secured a place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 after overcoming Georgia 4-1 in the Round of 16 on Sunday .

Georgia were off to a positive start when a Le Normand own goal had put them ahead. However, a Rodri thunderbolt levelled the scores in the first-half.

Ruiz struck early in the second half with a header off a Lamine Yamal cross before substitute Olmo and and Niko Williams completed a resounding win.

The result ended debutants Georgia’s fairytale in the tournament after a determined performance that successfully taper off on a big night.

La Roja thereby sealed their seventh win over Georgia in eight meetings since 2012. They will next face hosts Germany in a spicy quarterfinal clash on Friday.
