Euro 2024: Mbappe Scores As France Draw To Finish Second In Group D

Kylian Mbappe scored on his return to the starting line-up for France but Les Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by already eliminated Poland.

Mbappe opened scoring for France from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.

The forward slotted the ball home after Jakub Kiwor fouled Ousmane Dembele inside the box.

Poland equalising goal also came from the spot 16 minutes from time.

Dayot Upamecano brought down Polish substitute Karol Swiderski inside the box.

Robert Lewandowski missed his first attempt but Mike Maignan was adjudged to have advanced off his line too early.

The Barcelona man was lucky the second time smashing the ball into net.

France finished second in the group after Austria defeated Netherlands 3-2.

Didier Deschamp’s men will face whoever comes second in Group E, where Romania, Belgium Slovakia and Ukraine are all on three points.
