Katsina United have announced a change in the venue of their next two home fixtures in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The Chanji Boys next two home fixtures against Kun Khalifat FC and Plateau United will be played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

According to reports, Katsina United’s original ground Muhammad Dikko Stadium is unavailable for the fixtures.

Katsina United will return to their ground for the matchday 24 fixture against Abia Warriors.

“Katsina United Fc next two home matches will take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata Kano,” Katsina United announced in a statement on Saturday.

“The next two home matches against Kun Khalifa and Plateau United Fc will take place in Kano before we come back to Muhammadu Dikko Stadium Katsina to face Abia Warriors in MD 24.”

Katsina United will lock horns with Kun Khalifat FC in a matchday 19 fixture at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday(today).

NPFL: Katsina United to play next two games in Kano

The first two teams were eliminated from this season’s Champions League on Tuesday night.

They are Villarreal and Kairat Almaty, who currently occupy the 35th and 36th positions in the league phase.

Both teams have crashed out following their defeats to Club Brugge and Ajax respectively.

Villareal lost 2-1 to Ajax, while Kairat were thrashed 4-1 by Club Brugge.

The two teams have just one point each after seven matches.

According to the new format, 24 of the 36 clubs participating will progress into the knockout phase.

However, the top eight go straight into the Round of 16.

Champions League: Two teams eliminated from competition

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has spoken about the possibility of their semi-final clash with Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations going to a penalty shoot-out.

So far, only the last-16 clash between Mali and Tunisia was decided via spot-kicks at the tournament.

Nigeria lost by penalties to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the 2026 World Cup intercontinental playoff in November.

And when asked about his team’s preparations for a shoot-out in case the match against the Atlas Lions extends beyond extra-time, Chelle replied: “I will go to the mosque to pray to win if we get to a penalty shootout.”

If the Eagles are able to beat the host whether in regulation time or penalties, they will take on Senegal or Egypt in Sunday’s final.
