The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has extended warm felicitations to residents of the FCT, particularly the Muslim Ummah, as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In his message on behalf of the FCT Administration (FCTA), Wike acknowledged Ramadan as a time of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and closeness to Almighty Allah. He prayed for divine blessings upon all acts of worship, supplications, and sacrifices made during the sacred month.

Commending the residents for their generosity, kindness, and commitment to uplifting the less privileged, the Minister emphasized the need to carry these virtues beyond Ramadan. He stressed that the values of charity, compassion, and communal support are essential in fostering a harmonious and prosperous society.

“The FCT stands as the symbol of national unity, and we must continue to exemplify this by living in peace, respecting our differences, and working together for the common good,” Wike said.

Reaffirming the FCT Administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, security, and the welfare of residents, Wike assured that policies and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in the capital city would remain a priority.

He also called on residents to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and leaders at all levels, emphasizing that governance requires divine wisdom and collective support to build a capital city that embodies peace, prosperity, and unity.

The Minister further urged residents to take responsibility for maintaining peace and stability in their communities, warning against attempts by individuals or groups to instigate division or disrupt public order. He encouraged vigilance and cooperation with security agencies to safeguard the FCT from threats to its tranquility.

“As residents of our nation’s capital, we must remain united, resist division, and work together to ensure security. By reporting suspicious activities and fostering mutual respect, we can create an atmosphere where both our collective and individual dreams can be realized,” Wike stated.

He concluded by wishing all residents a peaceful and memorable Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
