Edo: Police arrest 3 for attempting to kill girl for money ritual

The Edo State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly attempting to kill a 23-year-old girl, identified as Esther Alu in Benin City for ritual. The State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, who disclosed this to newsmen in Benin City said the suspects were arrested in a hotel located along Benin/Sapele Road.

According to him, on June 22, 2024 at about 5:19 pm, information was received from the Managing Director of Liberty Hill Hotel, situated along Benin/Sapele Road, that a girl was crying in one of the hotel rooms and simultaneously someone was loudly chanting incantation.

Following the complaint, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit stormed the hotel and rescued the victim. He named the three suspects as Osarobo Osaretin (25), Eboigbodin Jude (24), and Maxwell Osagie (24). He said charms of different tyoes were recovered from the suspects.
