Nigeria’s Super Eagles will receive $15,000 for finishing third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports.

The bonus was initially meant for the semi-final where they lost 4-2 on penalities to hosts Atlas Lions of Morocco.

The players have received all their win-bonus except for the third- place match, according to SCORENigeria.

Wealthy businessman Abdul Samad Rabiu has also  redeemed his pledge of $500,000 to the team.

The players have already dispersed to their respective clubs.

They failed to attend the medal presentation ceremony on Sunday.

AFCON 2025: Super Eagles get special bonus for third place

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have raked in $80,000 for their efficiency in front of goal at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, DAILY POST reports.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, promised the team $5,000 per goal during the group stage.

The team earned $40,000 for the eight goals they  scored  in their three group games against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.

For the Round of 16 encounter against the Mambas of Mozambique, they got $40,000 for the four goals scored.

Nigeria will take on the Desert Foxes of Algeria in a quarter-final fixture at the Marrakesh Stadium on Saturday.

They will fly out of Fès for the game on Thursday.

AFCON 2025: Super Eagles earn $80,000 goals bonus 

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has been linked with the vacant Olympique Marseille coaching job.

Marseille are looking for a new coach following Roberto De Zerbi’s departure by mutual consent on Tuesday.

Chelle is among the names under consideration for the vacant coaching job, according to journalist Lassana Camara.

Another African, Habib Beye is among the shortlisted candidates.

Beye, a Senegalese, was recently sacked by French club, Stade Rennes.

Chelle enhanced his reputation after guiding Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 48-year-old has a contract with Nigeria until January 2027.
