Earlier, a SaharaReporters review of the Ekiti State Open Contracting Portal revealed that a contract valued at N320 million was awarded for the construction of a guest house chalet within the Government House.

The disruption occurred during a World Human Rights Day presentation being delivered by Amnesty International personnel to commemorate the occasion.

The incident was said to have occurred between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the lawmaker, the alleged killing of the women and the teenager occurred during what community members described as a peaceful demonstration.

The directive, issued through an internal communication dated December 5 and signed by Brigadier General A. Rabiu “for CDS”, warned that the “Headquarters has observed a growing proliferation of non-essential static roadblocks and checkpoints along several routes within the JOA.”

The attackers raided the church during a service on November 30, 2025, abducting several worshippers, including a three-week-old baby and a four-month-old infant.

Kaduna State has been grappling with persistent security challenges, and this latest assault highlights the continued vulnerability of rural communities in the region.

The solemn event, held within the grounds of the Lamurde Local Government Secretariat, served both as a farewell ceremony and a community indictment. 

According to preliminary information, the incident resulted in the death of an individual. 

Officers were told to ensure that all judges and court facilities under their Area of Responsibility (AOR) are adequately protected at all times.
