A section of the document, titled “2026 Budget and Strategies at Improving IGR,” points to an aggressive revenue drive coming at a time when Nigerians are grappling with severe economic pressure, business closures, job losses, rising inflation, and public distrust of government fiscal policies.

There are confirmed reports that an explosion occurred on the outskirts of Jibo village in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The deceased are Hon. Aminu Saad Ungogo, who represented Ungogo Constituency, and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the lawmaker for Kano Municipal Constituency.

According to a situation report from the Shao Police Unit, the incident occurred on December 23, 2025, at about 5:45 pm when a Shao patrol team intercepted two motorcycles.

The charges stem from allegations of money laundering involving funds of unlawful origin amounting to more than ₦1.014 billion.
