Burial date for gospel singer Omije Ojumi cancelled over alleged family crisis

The burial arrangement for late gospel musician, Omije Ojumi has been cancelled.

Her colleague, Lanre Alewilese, made the development known in an Instagram post.

Speaking on behalf of the planning committee, Alewilese cited ongoing crisis within the singer’s family as a major reason for the cancellation.

“This is to inform you that all burial plans of our Late Sister & Colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu has been CANCELLED over issues arising within her family. We’re deeply sorry for inconveniences”, Alewilese said.

DAILY POST recalls that the committee earlier announced that the deceased will be laid to rest on Wednesday January 20 2026.

Popular Afrobeat star, Afeez Adeshina, better known as Destiny Boy, is dead.

Destiny Boy died at the age of 22.

The news of his death was confirmed on Sunday, January 18, 2025, after a video of his lifeless body surfaced on social media.

As of the time of filling this report, the deceased body is being transported to Abeokuta in Ogun State for burial.

He announced the birth of his first child in November 2024, on his Instagram page.
