EPL: SuperComputer predicts title winners, top four after Man Utd beat Arsenal 3-2

The Opta SuperComputer is sticking with Arsenal to win the 2025/2026 Premier League title, despite a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

Matheus Cunha ended the Gunners’ unbeaten home record with a stunning strike from outside the box.

The result also meant that Mikel Arteta’s men’s lead at the top of the table was cut to four points, with Manchester City and Aston Villa winning over the weekend.

But Opta is still making Arsenal overwhelming favourites to become champions for the first time in over 20 years.

It has given them an 84.44% chance of finishing first, while City have an 8.38% probability.

Aston Villa have been given a 7.09% chance. Liverpool has less than 1%.

There are 15 fixtures left to be played in the league this campaign.

EPL: Michael Owen surprised by Carrick’s decision during Man United’s win against Arsenal

Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen has said he was ‘surprised’ by manager Michael Carrick’s decision not to start Matheus Cunha against Arsenal after his impressive display against Manchester City some days ago.

Cunha came off the bench to score the winning goal as Man United defeated Arsenal 3-2 in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazilian replaced teammate Bryan Mbeumo in the 68th minute of the encounter.

The win moves the Red Devils into the Premier League top four positions after 23 matches.

“I think this lad is a serious player. Yes, he is a bit of a maverick, but I think he has got pace, and can score goals,” Owen said of Cunha after the game as quoted by Metro UK.

“I was surprised that he did not start against Arsenal, after his performance against Manchester City, I can understand why Michael Carrick did not change things.”
