A member of the House of Representatives, Terseer Ugbor, has disclosed that the state has the highest number of Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camps in the North Central region of Nigeria.
Ugbor, who is representing Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency of Benue State, made this known on Friday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television, monitored by DAILY POST.
“It was very hard hitting and we tried our best to visit every single IDP camp in Benue. And we also visited Yobe and other states up-North.
“So we can see for ourselves why we are having an invasion and why there’s this urgent need to take over the Benue valley, and it is clear that the Benue valley is rich in natural resources.
“Our people are systematically being displaced from their communities, and we need to call attention to these issues,” the lawmaker said.
