At least 15 people have been abducted and one person killed following coordinated bandit attacks on two communities in Katsina State.
The incident was revealed in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the post, the attacks took place in Malumfashi Local Government Area, where armed bandits first stormed Unguwar Dambu in Gora Dan Saka district. During the raid, no fewer than 15 residents were reportedly abducted.
Hours later, the attackers moved to Gora community, where they ambushed residents at about 3 am.
During the attack, two people were shot, and one of them later died from injuries.
The post also noted that a pregnant woman died after collapsing out of fear when she heard that bandits had entered the community.
“How much longer will communities in northwest Nigeria continue to live under the constant threat of banditry without lasting security solutions?,” Makama asked.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from security authorities.
