Youths in Ogun State have been charged to secure a career of service, discipline and national pride by taking advantage of the ongoing Nigeria Army 91 Regular Recruits Intake.
The charge was made during a courtesy and awareness visit by a delegation from the Army Headquarters, Abuja, led by Brigadier Gen. O.P Oyegoke to the State Permanent Secretary in the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr Olanrewaju Saka.
The Army chief stated that youths across the country had been offered a structural path to contribute to the nation’s security architecture and at the same time have the opportunity to choose a very noble career.
According to him, the Nigerian Army remained a premier institution of character building and leadership, which do not just provide employment, but also offers specialised training to individuals to be at the fore front of defending the country’s territorial integrity.
He argued that it would be a premium advantage if the youths in Ogun State make use of the available opportunity to fill up the slot allotted to each state of the federation.
In his remarks, Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mr Olanrewaju Saka, said the state under the Abiodun-led administration had the most viable economy in Nigeria.
Saka stated that the governor is conscious and interested in the security of investors and residents of the state and would desire that a good number of youth from the state has a sizeable representation in the Army.
