Abronye ready to face NPP Disciplinary Committee, calls for live broadcast of proceedings

The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye, says he is fully ready to appear before the party’s National Disciplinary Committee after being invited by the General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua.

In a statement on Tuesday (30 September), Abronye said he is prepared to explain and provide evidence about what he called the “antichrist actions” of Kennedy Agyapong.

Abronye claims these actions have weakened the unity and image of the NPP.

“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the antichrist actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” Abronye stated.

He added that since the invitation was made public, the sittings of the Committee should also be open to the public and broadcast live. According to him, this will allow ordinary party members to see “at first hand” the conduct of Kennedy Agyapong.

The call comes after a notice, signed by the NPP General Secretary, confirmed Abronye’s referral to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee.

How ‘stolen’ State cash wins footsoldiers’ loyalty in NPP politics

When politicians fall from grace, it is often not their accumulated wealth, lofty titles, or long years of service that sustain them, but the people who rally to their defence. Yet in Ghana’s political culture, especially within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), solidarity in times of scandal appears to depend less on integrity and more on who benefited from one’s generosity sponsored by state largesse while in power. A poignant reflection shared by NPP activist…
