Abia State Council of traditional rulers has appealed to the Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu to avoid making statements that may pitch Governor Alex Otti against President Bola Tinubu.

The monarchs who said this on Wednesday, during a press conference, called for a ceasefire in the war of words between their ” two sons “.

They noted that any statement that may pitch Abia public against Governor Otti or make the state snowball into uncontrollable crises must be avoided, for the ongoing development of the state to fledge.

The decision of the monarchs was signed by the Chairman of Abia State Council of traditional rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah with three other deputy Chairmen, on behalf of other monarchs in the state.

According to the Abia traditional rulers, the statements credited to Deputy Speaker about the monthly financial allocations accruing to Abia State are unsubstantiated even as they dismissed his statements that Otti has not performed much with large allocations.

“We are therefore compelled to appeal to Benjamin Kalu to apply caution and restrain from making statements that may pitch His Excellency the Governor against the President and the people of the state.

The Abia monarchs passed a vote of confidence on Governor Otti, based on what they called his demonstration of political will to fix the infrastructure, health, security and educational sectors of the state.
