Abia LGA Chairman visits victims of Okon-Aku crises 

Executive Chairman of  Ohafia LGA, Eleanya Kalu has visited Okon-Aku community in Ohafia local government area of Abia State, following tragic killing of a youth, Igwe Akuma Akwu and the burning of property.
The local government Chairman who visited the family of the deceased to condole the bereaved, also visited the burnt residents of traditional rulers, Eze Ndukwe Iko, Eze Bernard Nkama and several others.
Eleanya Kalu who appealed for calm in the family of the murdered youth and also called for calm, peaceful dialogue among the parties.

He condemned the acts of violence and destruction that took place last weekend in Okon-Aku , describing them as unacceptable and detrimental to peace, unity, and development.
“To prevent further breakdown of law and order, security personnel have been deployed to the area on permanent basis to restore peace and safeguard lives and property ” he said.
He, however, thanked the security agencies for their efforts in ensuring that the crisis did not escalate beyond the current level. He also directed that the security agencies remain in the community to maintain order.
