Adeboye Breaks Silence On Viral ‘Alhaji’ Photo

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed an AI-generated image depicting him as an alhaji.

Naija News understands that in December 2024, there were viral images depicting the RCCG pastor as a Muslim – clothed in Islamic garments.

Factcheckhub reported that an X user, @Sarkideyforyou, shared an image of Adeboye standing in front of the Kaabah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia—a religious site for Muslims.

The post, accompanied by the caption, “Pastor Adeboye may Allah guide you to the right path,” garnered significant attention, with over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes by December 22, 2024.

Speaking during the first Holy Ghost Night of the new year, held in the early hours of Saturday, January 4, Adeboye acknowledged the AI-generated image of him as an alhaji, remarking, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.”

Turning his focus to international concerns, Adeboye urged prayers for peace, especially amid ongoing global conflicts, to prevent another world war.

Adeboye also addressed the growing presence of mockers, predicting that many would not survive the year.

However, he emphasised that God does not desire the death of sinners.

He also prophesied that 2025 would witness an unprecedented earthquake of massive proportions.

In his message, titled, “The Glory Ahead,” Adeboye assured his listeners that the future would be brighter despite current challenges.

He assured the congregation that God’s purpose for humanity on earth remains paramount, explaining that God isn’t in a hurry to take people to heaven because He needs them to fulfil His divine mission here on earth.
