Mother allegedly beats 15-year-old son to death over theft of N200

A mother in Delta State has allegedly beaten her 15-year-old son to death for stealing N200.

The tragedy occurred on Thursday at Obire Street, off Cemetery Road, Warri.

Some residents of the street, who spoke to DAILY POST on condition of anonymity, narrated that the hands and legs of the boy were tied by his brother while his body was pieced with hot knife.

”When she realized that her son was dying, she ran out and cried for assistance.

“Unfortunately, before they arrived at the hospital, her son died,” a source added.

The source also disclosed that the woman has previously evicted from a nearby compound where she lived due to her hostile relationship with neighbours.

The source further disclosed that her late son before his death hawked smoke fish for the mother after which he will go for apprenticeship on repair of handsets.

SP Bright Edafe, Delta Command Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), when contacted for confirmation, stated that no such incident has been reported to the police.
