Tincan–Liverpool Bridge: Lagos Police give update on fallen diesel tanker

The Lagos State Police Command says normalcy has been restored in the Tincan–Liverpool Bridge area of Apapa after a diesel tanker overturned on the bridge.

DAILY POST reports that the incident occurred on Monday morning, causing gridlock in the area.

Residents were also sighted in a viral video, scooping fuel from the fallen tanker.

In an update on her official X handle, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said efforts are underway to move the tanker away.

She wrote, “The Area A Commander, DPO Apapa, personnel of the Command drawn from other divisions of Area B Command and RRS, as well as other law enforcement agencies are fully on ground.

“The scene has been cordoned off, normalcy restored, and efforts are ongoing to trans-load and move the tanker.

“The driver and motor boy have been taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

“Traffic is under control. Motorists are advised to comply with all instructions to avoid any obstruction to traffic flow.”
