Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has expressed his admiration for Akor Adams following his display during Nigeria’s 2–1 victory over Tanzania at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, this week.

Oliseh noted that the Sevilla striker displayed an exceptional presence throughout the match against Tanzania.

Speaking as a commentator during AfroSports’ coverage of AFCON 2025, Oliseh said, “I’m Impressed with Akor Adams’ performance against Tanzania. He was all over the pitch trying to make things happen for the Super Eagles.”

Goals from Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman, one in each half, secured the Super Eagles’ victory over Tanzania in Morocco.

Akwa United head coach, Paul Offor, says they will make up for their home draw against Godswill Akpabio FC when they confront Sporting Lagos.

The Promise Keepers settled for a 0-0 against Godswill Akpabio FC in their last home game in Uyo last weekend.

Akwa United will square up with Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos on Wednesday.

Offor said they will give their best in the game.

“We have to put this game behind us and focus on Wednesday’s match against Sporting Lagos,” Offor told Akwa United’s media.

“We hope to go there, give our best, and recover the points we dropped at home.”

DAILY POST reports that Offor will be facing his former club for the first time since his disengagement by the Lagos-based side.

Former England player Paul Merson has claimed that Pep Guardiola could leave Manchester City if Arsenal end up winning the Premier League title this season.

Going into this weekend’s fixtures, Mikel Arteta’s side maintain top spot, sitting two points clear of City in second place.

Merson is confident that his former club will end their 22-year wait for the trophy.

He told Sky Sports: “I think they [Arsenal] win the league. There are 22 games to go.

“If there were six games to go and I was sitting here and it was two points, then I’d say Man City!

“And I think if they don’t win it this season, I think he (Guardiola) will know that it will probably be an Arsenal league to dominate for a while, and I think he’ll get out while he’s still ahead.”
