Climate change reshaping global order — Lands Minister warns at COP 30

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has warned that the escalating climate crisis is “gradually changing the world order,” calling for urgent global cooperation to curb its devastating effects.

Addressing delegates at the COP 30 Climate Conference in Brazil on Monday, 10 November 2025, Mr. Buah highlighted the growing impact of climate change on vulnerable communities, especially in Africa.

He noted that despite contributing the least to global greenhouse gas emissions, African nations are facing the harshest realities of climate change, from rising sea levels to prolonged droughts and erratic rainfall patterns.

“The evidence is all around us, the increasing level of extreme weather, rainfall variability, unprecedented floods, heatwaves, and drought that cracks the earth,” he said.

According to the Minister, the consequences of these environmental shocks are already threatening food security, public health, and livelihoods across the continent.

“These are not abstract climate models; they are realities that translate into hunger, malnutrition, and the loss of livelihoods that sustain vulnerable communities,” Mr. Buah stated.
