In a heartfelt statement signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Bright Asempa Tsadidey, on behalf of the management and staff of the Authority, the GTA said it was “deeply saddened” by her passing, highlighting her lifelong advocacy for women’s rights, empowerment, and social justice.
“Nana Konadu was not only a symbol of courage and leadership but also a woman whose vision, resilience, and advocacy left an indelible mark on Ghana’s social and political landscape,” the statement read.
The GTA described her as a pillar of transformation, noting that her work in advancing the role of women in governance and development continues to shape the country’s democratic journey.
“Her contribution to women’s empowerment and national development will forever be remembered with gratitude and respect,” it added.
In its message of condolence to the Rawlings family, the Authority urged Ghanaians to celebrate her life and the values she stood for.
“In this moment of profound grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the Rawlings family. May you find comfort in the legacy she leaves behind and strength in the love and memories you shared. Ghana has lost a great daughter, but her spirit will continue to inspire generations to come,” the statement concluded.
The tribute ended with a final farewell: “May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
