Hot SourceThe Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has suspended the Action Democratic Party, ADP, from the council.
In a letter signed by Barr. Maxwell Ngbudem, the National Secretary of IPAC, and addressed to the National Chairman of the ADP on Tuesday, the Council stated that the party would no longer be part of its activities.
IPAC said the suspension was due to ADP’s refusal to be a signatory to the Council’s constitution, which is the binding instrument regulating its affairs.
The letter stated that the resolution was reached after an emergency meeting of the General Assembly of IPAC held on August 1, 2025.
“The General Assembly, after due deliberations, resolved to suspend the Action Democratic Party (ADP) from all activities of the Council,” the statement said.
“This decision became necessary owing to ADP’s deliberate refusal to be a signatory to the IPAC Constitution, which is the binding instrument regulating the affairs of the Council.
“Consequently, ADP cannot continue to participate in the activities of IPAC while disregarding its constitutional obligations.
“Furthermore, all ADP state chairmen currently occupying leadership positions at the state level are hereby deemed to have automatically forfeited such positions with immediate effect.”
IPAC said it remains committed to upholding its constitution and fostering discipline and credibility within the Nigerian political system.
