The meeting, which was initially scheduled to begin earlier this month, was deferred following a notice dated 6 October. A subsequent statement from the Office of the Speaker, issued on 8 October, invoked Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament to communicate the new commencement date.
This session marks the third and final meeting of the parliamentary calendar year, with Members of Parliament expected to turn their attention to key national issues, including the consideration of bills, committee reports, and financial matters ahead of the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
The coming weeks are expected to be busy as government ministers appear before the House to provide updates on sectoral performance, while MPs debate policies, pending legislation, and other pressing national concerns.
