Kebbi State Government has approved the appointment of Sanusi Muhammad Toga as the new District Head of Sarkin Yamman Gwazange and announced the creation of four new villages in Argungu Local Government Area.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar Dutsin-Mari, in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the statement, the decision followed a resolution by the Argungu Local Government Council in accordance with the Kebbi State Local Government Law of 2008.
The newly created villages include Sarkin Yamman, Magaji Bela, Ubandawakin Wali, and Darakwai.
Dutsin-Mari said the new district was carved out of the existing Baraje District to enhance administrative efficiency and promote grassroots governance.
He urged the new district head to carry out his duties with fairness and a commitment to peace and development within his area.
