Highlife sensation Martin Kofi King Arthur, popularly known as Kofi Kinaata, has opened up about his evolution as an artiste, detailing his shift from rap to singing.
According to the Things Fall Apart hitmaker, the change was not carefully planned but happened as part of his growth as an artiste.
“I knew I could sing when I started, but my fans were really into my rapping because that’s what they first loved, until I decided to switch things up,” he said.
Kinaata first gained nationwide attention for his clever rap lines. He explained that while rap gave him recognition, singing has allowed him to explore his talent further and connect with audiences on a deeper level.
He compared the process to being a driver responsible for passengers. The driver may choose routes that passengers don’t immediately understand, but in the end, the goal is to reach the destination safely.
“In the same way, I knew my fans might resist at first, but once they saw where I was taking them, they enjoyed the ride,” he added.
