The Federal Government, through the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has summoned all domestic airlines to a meeting in Abuja over recent flight disruptions and unruly passenger behaviour.

In a post via his official X handle on Tuesday, the Director of Public Relations and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, said the meeting would be held on Wednesday at the NCAA headquarters.

DAILY POST reports that the aviation industry has recently come under intense scrutiny amid incidents of unruly passenger behaviour.

“The NCAA has invited all domestic airlines to a meeting in Abuja slated for tomorrow, Wednesday,” Achimugu said.

He disclosed that NCAA would address unruly passenger behaviour and passenger handling protocols, unresolved refund/compensation issues, amongst others.

The summon is coming barely 24 hours after Achimugu said the regulatory authority had the mandate of the Federal Government to begin naming and shaming airlines that delay and cancel flights.

In a post on X on Monday, the NCAA boss announced that airlines would be sanctioned for flight disruptions.
