NPA clinches “Most Connected Energy Sector Agency” at IT Excellence Awards 2025

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has been adjudged the Most Connected Energy Sector Agency of the Year at the 2025 IT Excellence Awards held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The award recognises the Authority’s strides in building secure and reliable digital connectivity across all its regional offices, improving communication, boosting efficiency, and accelerating digital transformation in Ghana’s energy sector.

The Director for Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at NPA, Dr Joseph Wilson, received the award on behalf of the Chief Executive, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.), on Friday.

Organised by the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) in collaboration with Smart Infraco LTD, the awards formed part of this year’s ICT Week Celebration under the theme: “Ghana as Africa’s Digital Trade Hub: Innovation, Policy and Partnerships for the Future.”

The Chief Technology Officer of Smart Infraco LTD, Michael Kwabla, lauded the winners, noting that their achievements were critical to Ghana’s global reputation. He urged stakeholders to prioritise innovation, resilience, and collaboration in driving the country’s digital transformation agenda.

The NPA’s recognition adds to Ghana’s efforts to harness technology for growth and to position the energy sector as a key player in the country’s digital future.
