Israeli security forces said they have expanded a military operation to Nur Shams in the West Bank.
A military spokesperson said this on Sunday, announcing the expansion of a military operation in the occupied territory.
Recall that the military, police and intelligence services launched a counter-terrorism operation in Jenin on January 21.
Officials described the operation as a large-scale and significant military operation.
According to the Israeli military, several militants had been killed and a number of wanted suspect detained in the operation.

Zamfara: Gov Lawal approves committee to investigate causes of fire at Kaura Namoda Almajeri school
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the constitution of a committee to investigate the root causes of the fire incident at a Qur’anic school in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area that killed 17 students.
This was disclosed by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, SSG, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, who said that the committee will also assess the level of damages, recommend measures to prevent future occurrences of such incidents, and suggest appropriate support for the affected to facilitate recovery.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, Media Office of the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Comrade Suleiman Ahmad Tudu.
According to the statement, insights from the report of the committee will also help the government implement proactive safety measures across other Qur’anic schools and public places in the state, in line with the national fire safety code.
The membership of the committee includes Prof. Jafaru Makau Kaura as Chairman, Sheikh Ahmad Ibn Umar Kanoma (Special Adviser on Religious Matters and Chairman of the Hisbah Commission), a representative of the Ministry for Religious Affairs, a representative of the State Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, and representatives from the Ministry for Local Government Affairs.
Other members include three representatives from the Ulama Consultative Council, a representative of the Commissioner of Police, a representative from the Department of State Security (DSS), representatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), representatives from the Department of Fire Service, and the Secretary of the Ulama Consultative Council, who will serve as Secretary to the committee.
The statement noted that the committee would commence its activities immediately.

A month after regaining freedom, there were emotional scenes on Sunday morning as the five men were embraced by tearful relatives at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport’s arrivals hall.
“I don’t know how to put it into words,” released hostage Mr. Thaenna said.
“I’d like to thank all the officials who were involved in helping us out until we’re standing here,” according to BBC.
The five workers were earlier released on January 30, 2025, but kept in the hospital in Israel so that their health can be monitored.
Reacting, Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa said it was “very inspiring” to witness their return following their release as part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Meanwhile, according to the Thai foreign ministry in Bangkok, a total of 46 Thai workers have been killed since October 2023.
